May 15th, 2013 – Jennifer Evans of Encore Events & Presentations hosted the seminar Event Marketing: How to Successfully Grow your Business Through Events at Nectar Tasting Room in downtown Spokane. This event instructed attendees on how a well planned and executed corporate event can help achieve sales and marketing goals, increase customer and employee retention and help define a brand.
The attendees included small business owners and professionals in marketing and business administration with events already on the calendar. She stated that event planning can be a very time consuming endeavor especially for those that already have a full week of work. She offered savvy, common sense advice to those professionals that are asked to host an event with little prior experience.
I’m hoping to give people some ideas and tools so they can produce events on their own a lot more quickly and efficiently and also on a budget. (Jennifer Evans)
Throughout her presentation, Jennifer stressed ROI (return on investment) for event planning. She stated that to keep events on the calendar in the future, planners must provide metrics on the effectiveness of the event. Planners need to know their costs vs. their number of attendees and how does that equate to the marketing bottom line. She gave many case studies of events that provided positive ROI.
Jennifer also stressed the importance of social media in marketing and promoting event. It’s a huge part of every event that she does. Utilizing Facebook and Twitter are great ways to share your event.
It’s the best way to build interest and it’s really a good indicator of your success. If you hosting a branding event, the best way to see that traffic is social media. (Jennifer Evans)
