The Big Bang Benefit Breakfast was held April 12, 2013 at Mobius Science Center in Downtown Spokane. This annual benefit supports scholarships, educational outreach and exhibit development for Mobius Kids Children’s Museum and Mobius Science Center. Invitees included community leaders, Mobius supporters, and citizens from the Spokane region. Attendees were encouraged to give financial support to continue the mission of Mobius which includes outreach to under-served youth in Spokane region. Deb Blake, Mobius Events Manager, outlined the ways in which Mobius serves this population.
We have received grants from local corporations that allow students to visit Mobius that otherwise would not be able to. We have a grant that particularly serves Title 1 schools. We also have partnerships in the community with Boys & Girls Club of Spokane County, of Kootenai County and Providence Hospital, to name a few. (Deb Blake)
